Website cost calculator: which price band your project falls into
Four questions are enough to place a B2B website in one of three evidenced price bands: template, WordPress or custom development. The ranges come from our own projects in the DACH region.

Basis of the figures
All ranges come from the linked cost article (our own project values, DACH, August 2026). They are guidance, not a quote. What does a B2B website cost? The full article · The total budget including marketing is covered by the digital budget calculator

Why four questions are enough
The price of a website is not driven by page count but by three traits: whether it is a sales channel, whether other systems must connect, and whether it has to model custom logic. If none apply, a solid standard implementation is enough. If one applies, WordPress is the economical choice. If two apply, the platform detour costs more than building directly.
Common questions
Why are the price ranges so wide?
Because "website" denotes a brochure as accurately as a sales system. The range closes as soon as layouts, languages, integrations and content ownership are named. Four verifiable traits make quotes comparable: measurable acceptance criteria, HTML readable without JavaScript, a redirect concept for old URLs, and settled ownership of code and content.
What does operation cost?
As a rule of thumb, ten to twenty percent of the initial investment per year: hosting, maintenance, updates, small enhancements. On a €20,000 site that is roughly €2,000 to €4,000 annually. Anyone who skips this buys a website that goes stale.
Is WordPress still worth it?
For most B2B mid-market companies, yes: the €6,000 to €20,000 band covers a well-built theme with custom design, good structure and your content. Custom development pays off only once the website has to model its own logic or connect several systems.
What is not included in the price?
Almost never included: copywriting, photography, translations, privacy and legal texts, training, ongoing care. These items often add thirty to fifty percent. An honest quote names them; a cheap one hides them.
What you will still be working with in three years
The decisive question is not what is cheaper, but what you can still work with in three years. An initial call settles that faster than any quote.
